Bend, Merck in technology license agreement

Bend has provided Merck with the rights to have access to its proprietary spray-dried dispersion (SDD) technology, as per the agreement.

Bend will also provide Merck with access to additional drug-delivery platforms and intellectual property including drug-discovery formulation tools and modified-release technologies.

The partnership also aims to use their respective complementary fundamental scientific and engineering capabilities in order to solve complex formulation and process-development problems.

Bend Research CEO Rod Ray said this relationship expands their opportunities to deliver medicines and fits well with Merck’s mission to help provide products that improve and save people’s lives.
